Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

RCIA

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults is a program designed by the Catholic Church to help welcome those adults who are unbaptized, or Baptized in a different Christian faith, into the Catholic Church. Here at St. Jude the Apostle Cathedral we welcome any adult who may be interested in becoming Catholic to learn more about the Catholic faith through RCIA.

Our RCIA program meets on Sunday mornings beginning with 8:00 AM Mass.  RCIA classes follow Mass, typically running from September through the Easter Season. Those in RCIA will spend the year learning about different aspects of our Catholic Faith; from "What do Catholics Believe?" to "Mary and the Saints" to "The History of the Church". The goal of our RCIA program is to help Catechumens and Candidates develop a necessary understanding of the Catholic Faith before receiving the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion, and Confirmation at the Easter Vigil.

If you have been thinking about becoming Catholic or are interested in exploring the Catholic faith and/or receiving the sacraments, please contact Charmaine Carter or Deacon John Carter to set up a meeting and begin your journey into the Catholic Church.
